The two met when Julius' late aunty, the mother of the late Rev. Amos L. Brent, died in 1988. They fell in love and got married later in 1991. Later they moved to Barnesville in 1992 and became a member of the Grace Baptist Church where they served as the out-post pastors for a church established in the Kaduma community. They were led by God during this time to establish an interdenominational ministry. Then, they became the Executive Directors. The ministry name is the Soul Winning Evangelistic Ministries Inc (SWEMI). SWEMI became a part of a great revival that took place all over Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, Gambia, and beyond. Their desire was to reach many people with the gospel.
In 1998, they later became members of the New Life Ministry Center Barnesville where they also served as Pastor for Evangelism and Missions, and minister of music later respectively. With a deep desire to spread the gospel and win souls for Christ, they were led to Gbarnga City, Bong County, where they started the New Life Outreach Christian Assembly where they presently serve as General Overseers.
They moved to the United States in 2010 and settled in Madison, Wisconsin. Upon their arrival in Madison, they established the Hope in Christ Assembly in 2012 which is a part of the Minnesota-Wisconsin Baptist Convention. Rev Julius Brent is serving as Pastor and his wife Kula R. Brent pastor of music.
